I have the same experience with my LG 27GN800 although i have noticed that on the games that i can toggle HDR my monitor recognizes the change and it automatically changes to HDR mode and the games look better "Battlefield V for example" but if i activate HDR in the OS everything looks washed out and yellowish, i tried Forza Horizon 5 on HDR and it looks horrible, so i think it really depends HDR in this game, to me, looks pretty damn good when set up correctly.
